Halfway through your novel and needing encouragement to make it to the end? Worried that the start is leading you in a direction you never expected? Think that you might be stuck writing this one forever? Or, lucky you, finished and trying to find the energy to re-write? This course will teach you  to subject  your work  to the kind of scrutiny that will help  you identify and solve the problems you may have encountered. Through a series of exercises on plot, character, point of view and structure, and through the all-important group discussions, when you will have the chance to pass some of your work by your fellow writers, the  workshop will help re-fuel your creative juices and, hopefully, give you  the  burst of energy you need  to carry you through to  the end.

South African-born, Gillian Slovo is President of English PEN and the author of twelve novels and  a family memoir Every Secret Thing, which  was an international bestseller. Ice Road, set in Leningrad of the 1930s, was shortlisted for the Orange Prize. Her co-authored play, Guantanamo – Honor Bound to Defend Freedom played world-wide. Her verbatim interviews with women politicians was part of the 2010 Tricycle Theatre’s Women, Power and Politics season.
