Venue: Ard Scoil Phobal, Bantry, Co. Cork
Please note that all participants are asked to bring their own materials for workshops eg. pens, paper etc.

This workshop will look at writing for radio, print and television with practical exercises and will include the following: developing and putting your ideas into practice; selling your idea to editors or producers; the importance of research; how to approach interviewees, interview techniques, how to write up your idea and proposal; your voice: radio and print. You will produce a script and or article at the end of the course, one of which will be published in the Southern Star.
Roisin Boyd is an award-winning journalist who has worked as a television and radio producer with RTE and with independent companies including Tyrone Productions. She has worked on Today with Pat Kenny, Today at Five, Drivetime, Saturday View and Prime Time. She has reported from Northern Ireland, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, the Philippines, and Pakistan. She has worked as a freelance producer, trainer and communications consultant, and was Head of Communications at the Irish Refugee Council. Roisin also worked with migrant women journalists on the Having your voice heard mentoring programme at FOMACS – Forum on Migration and Communications. She is passionate about journalism and sharing her skills.
